Precious Ojo, a 27-year-old woman, has been taken into custody in Lagos State after allegedly using a cane to harm a 10-year-old girl.
The incident occurred in the Ceremedu Awoyaya area of Ibeju Lekki where both individuals reside.
Local authorities received a report of the incident and arrested Precious, transferring her to the Gender Section of the State Command for questioning.
Subsequently, she was charged and brought before the Ogba Magistrate Court. Precious pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against her.
The prosecutor requested a date for the hearing to present evidence of her guilt. The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted Precious bail in the sum of N100,000, provided by two sureties who must prove their means of livelihood and tax payments.
Their addresses will also need to be verified by the Court. The case was adjourned for mention, and in the meantime, Precious remains in custody at the Kirikiri town correctional centre until she fulfills the bail requirements.
