Pascal Dozie, a prominent figure in the Nigerian business world and the founder of the now-defunct Diamond Bank, has passed away following a brief illness, as confirmed by family sources.
He was born on April 9, 1939, in Owerri, Imo State.
Dozie leaves behind a lasting legacy in the fields of banking and entrepreneurship.
After obtaining his early education in Nigeria, Dozie pursued higher education in the United Kingdom, receiving a B.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics and Master’s degree in Administrative Science from City University in London.
Throughout his career, Dozie made significant contributions to the Nigerian economy.
In addition to establishing Diamond Bank, he held the position of Chairman at MTN Nigeria and was actively involved in various business ventures and initiatives aimed at promoting economic development and empowering individuals.
Dozie’s impact on the business world has been recognized through numerous awards, including the National Award of the Order of the Niger (OON) and the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
Survived by his wife, Chinyere Dozie, five children, and multiple grandchildren, Pascal Dozie’s passing marks the end of an era for the Nigerian business community.
