Leading construction engineering company in the country, Julius Berger Nigeria PLC showcased the breadth of its business and innovative solutions at the just ended 6th edition of Big 5 Construct Nigeria, attracting significant visitor interests and facilitating strategic business discussions throughout the three-day construction industry exhibition in Lagos.
The exhibition, held from September 22 to 24, 2026, at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, brought together more than 170 exhibitors from over 20 countries and attracted more than 10,000 industry professionals. Organised by dmg events, the exhibition provided a platform for businesses and professionals across the construction and built-environment sector to showcase their capabilities, engage stakeholders and explore emerging opportunities.
Julius Berger’s participation brought together its aluminium and glass solutions business; ABUMET, its furniture and interior design unit, AFP,; the Idu Precast Unit; and the Property and Equipment Department, PED, presenting visitors with a potpourri view of the Group’s specialised capabilities and solutions.
The Julius Berger pavilion recorded a high volume of strategic discussions, with visitors engaging representatives across the participating businesses and units.
The company’s Head, Strategic Business Development, Achim Becker, noted the impressive diversity of exhibitors at the exhibition and the high volume of strategic discussions held at the Julius Berger pavilion.
The Senior Executive, Strategic Business Development, Filipe Lopes, said the exhibition provided Julius Berger with an opportunity to showcase the breadth of its business in Nigeria, engage with partners and benchmark developments across the industry.
A major attraction at the pavilion was ABUMET’s presentation of modern architectural concepts and product solutions, including its new Budget Window Range, Glass Bridge, 3D Roofing Structure and Grid2shell system.
The Budget Window Range, a new cost-effective solution, was introduced in response to shifting market demands, while the Glass Bridge and 3D Roofing Structure attracted strong interests from visitors to the pavilion.
The Grid2Shell system also drew attention for its structural application. The Head of Design at ABUMET, Allan Corpuz, explained that the innovative system is designed for skylights, entrances and convention facilities and can span between 60 and 100 metres without central column support.
The system formed part of ABUMET’s broader presentation of modern architectural concepts at the exhibition, reflecting the company’s evolving approach to its product and design offering.
For the Managing Director of Kawai Technologies, Engineer Akimbo Akinonware. a project management and supply chain company, every year the Big 5 gets better and I mean Julius Berger has always participated and what I like this year is the new equipment like the new glass framing material in aluminium. I think this is really, something worth applying in a projects execution in Nigeria because it is totally new technology..
General Manager at ABUMET, Diemo Schillack, noted that the company had shifted from its traditional focus on standard windows and doors towards highly modern architectural concepts. He said the new approach generated a much stronger response from visitors at the just ended event compared with previous years.
Beyond ABUMET’s showcase, the participation of AFP, the Idu Precast Unit and PED enabled visitors to engage with different areas of the Julius Berger Group’s operations, while the collective presence created opportunities to interact with existing and prospective clients and explore new partnerships.
The exhibition also provided Julius Berger Group with an opportunity to observe developments across the construction industry and gain insights into changing market interests through direct engagement with exhibitors and industry professionals.
In answer to a question, the Head, Corporate Communication at Julius Berger Group, Dr. Emieseifa Agama was ecstatic about the entire event. He said; you can see the entire portfolio, so it is a good opportunity for people to see what we are doing and what our portfolio is like.
Speaking in the same vein, a Director of the company, Bello Tukur praised the organisers of the 2026 Big 5 Expo, saying that, at least, they have given us at ABUMET the opportunity to showcase and display what we can bring to the table of stakeholders. Just take a look at the showing of all the subsidiaries and branches of the Group, and you can’t agree less that we upped our outing this season.
The exhibition ended on a resounding note with Julius Berger shinning as usual.
