The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK), Prof. Haruna Musa, has commended Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke for his contributions to education and human capital development, particularly his support for students from Katsina State.
Musa conveyed the commendation in a letter presented to Senator Lado Danmarke during a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor on Monday, August 17, 2026.
Senator Lado Danmarke visited the university to attend an award ceremony organised by postgraduate students of Katsina State origin studying at BUK in recognition of his contributions to education in Nigeria, particularly in Katsina State.
In the letter, the Vice Chancellor praised the senator for his commitment to supporting students by paying their registration fees for three consecutive academic sessions.
Musa disclosed that the intervention had benefited students across different postgraduate categories, with registration fees fully paid for 123 postgraduate students during the 2025/2026 academic session.
The beneficiaries comprised 33 PhD students and 90 Master’s students.
According to the Vice Chancellor, the intervention had helped ease the financial burden on the students while encouraging them to pursue academic excellence.
He expressed appreciation on behalf of the university and the beneficiaries, noting that the support aligns with the institution’s efforts to produce highly skilled graduates capable of contributing to the development of Katsina State and Nigeria.
Musa also commended Senator Lado Danmarke’s philanthropic efforts and partnership with the university, describing his commitment to education and human capital development as remarkable.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would reward the senator abundantly and grant him the capacity to continue supporting education and other initiatives that benefit society.
The commendation adds to growing recognition of Senator Lado Danmarke’s intervention in supporting the educational advancement of students from Katsina State.
