The National President of the Nigerian Youth Unions Government and Front Commander General of the Citizens Mandate for Goodluck Nigeria 2027, Amb. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel, has commended the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for granting former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan a waiver ahead of the party’s 2027 presidential process.
Godstime specifically praised the PDP national leadership led by Taminu Turaki for what he described as a positive response to earlier appeals made by the group.
According to him, the waiver followed sustained calls by members of the Citizens Mandate for Goodluck Nigeria 2027 urging the former president to return to active politics and contest the 2027 presidential election.
He recalled that about two weeks ago, he led over 2,000 members of the group to the Maitama residence of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, where they appealed to him to join the presidential race.
Godstime claimed that after Jonathan allegedly agreed to heed the call, members of the group mobilised funds to purchase the PDP presidential nomination form for the former president.
He further expressed confidence that Jonathan would emerge victorious in the 2027 presidential election, while thanking the PDP leadership for what he called respect and recognition for the former Nigerian leader.
