Three individuals, Livinus Onyeaka, Gbadebo Odunusi, and Emeka Ihenotuho, have been apprehended and charged in Lagos State for allegedly purchasing a expensive house from a deceased woman.
The suspects were accused of forging ownership documents for the property and claiming to have bought it legally from the deceased woman’s wife.
However, when confronted by the actual owner of the house, Dr Onieselehi, they could not produce any valid evidence and it was discovered that the documents they presented were fraudulent.
The police arrested and detained the suspects, who pleaded not guilty when brought before the court.
The prosecutor requested a trial date to prove their guilt, and the magistrate granted the defendants bail upon presenting sureties who could vouch for their livelihood and payment of taxes.
The case was adjourned until January 31, 2024, and the defendants were remanded in custody until they fulfill the bail conditions.
